Dog Licenses

Dear Dog Owner,

Section 955.01 of the Ohio Revised Code states that every person who owns, keeps, or harbors a dog must register it with the county of residence. A Clermont County dog license can be purchased during the County's annual registration period (December - January) for $14.75 per dog. If purchasing a license outside of the registration period, the fee per dog is $28.75.

To make things easier and help accommodate those busy schedules, the Clermont County Animal Shelter has available a mail-in registration form. Simply fill out the information and return the application with a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check or money order made payable to the Clermont County Animal Shelter. We will send you your dog license(s) in the mail. You may also stop by the Animal Shelter and purchase your license in person. Shelter hours are Monday-Saturday 11:30 am to 4:00 pm.

We must stress the importance of your dog's license. There are no guarantees that your dog will never get loose from its confines. A license is the best way to ensure the return of your pet if it becomes lost and it is the law.
